1. Create a Template

Click on Create Template

A pop-up window will appear

Choose the Template Type:

Standard

Sub-task

Select the Work Item Type ( Bug, Task, Story)

Add fields to your template:

Click on any field to add it

The selected fields will be listed

Fill in the values as needed

Once all fields are configured:

Add the necessary data

Click Save

Template Scope

A template is associated with:

One or more Work Item Types

If a template is linked to a Cloud Project and Bug, it will only apply to that project and work type.
2. Apply a Template

Go to Jira β Create Work Item

Select:

The template will be applied automatically if:

It matches the selected project and type

If multiple templates exist for the selected project and work item type :

The default template will be applied

You can change the default or select another template manually

3.Search & Filter Templates
Use the search bar to quickly find templates by name.
You can also refine your results using filters:

Status β filter by Enabled or Disabled templates

Type β filter by template type (Standard or Sub-task)

Project β filter templates linked to a specific project
-
Work Type β filter by Jira issue type (Bug, Task, Storyβ¦)

Priority β filter templates based on priority level
π Click Clean Filters to reset all filters at once
4.Export & Import Templates
Export Templates
You can export templates in different ways:

Export a single template

Export multiple templates at once
-
Click Export, then select one or more templates.

Click Export again, choose the format (PNG or JSON), and confirm by clicking Export.

The selected templates will then be exported successfully.

Import Templates
You can import templates using:

JSON format only
-
Click Import, then you will be redirected to select a file from your computer. Choose the JSON file, then click Import to complete the process.

5. Bulk Delete
You can delete more than a template with simple click in one time :

And if you want to reset the table to default, simply click on Fields, then click Clear All. The table will then display only the default columns.
7. Manage Templates
For each template, you can:

Edit β Click on Edit to open the template. Apply your modifications, then click Modify Fields and Save to update the template.

Delete β Click Delete on a template. A confirmation pop-up will appear confirm it to permanently remove the template.

Duplicate β Click Duplicate to create a copy of the template. A new name will be generated automatically (Template Name - V1). You can then modify it as needed and click Duplicate to save it.
8. Enable / Disable Templates

Use the toggle to enable or disable a template
